When I was young, my Grandpa (we called him GP) would spend the first years of his retirement, attending auctions, and buying unique items to resell for a profit. For most of my childhood, I believed that he has amassed a fortune in gold and collectibles, just waiting to be resold for a fair price.

Both GP and my Grandma, GiGi, passed away in the Fall of 2017. After 67 years of marriage, they died only 10 weeks apart. They left behind an enduring example of love, an overwhelming commitment to their family, and even instilled in me an appreciation for the uniqueness in everyday things. This series of Illustrations, depicting unique objects from their home, was developed as a way of processing my grief, and to pay tribute to some of the most loving people I've ever known.
